寶寶滿四個月的那一天，要準備牲禮、紅龜粿、酥餅等供奉神佛祖先，娘家也得和彌月時一樣送頭尾，同時親友也可隨意贈禮；最後，產婦則以湯圓、紅桃或酒宴作為答禮，此即所謂的「做四月日」在做四月日這項禮俗中，最具趣味的就是「收涎」，意思為收起寶寶的口水，為寶寶解決流口水的毛病；另外在做四月日當天，還需用紅線繫結寶寶的手腳，避免寶寶長大後做不正當的事，而成為一個堂堂正正的人。
